March 13, 2020, 3:00pm Skate Canada National Update

March 13, 2020, 9:30am
As a Section we have been receiving many inquiries as a result of the decision from Hockey Canada yesterday afternoon to cancel all of their sanctioned events and programming in Canada. At this time no such decision has been given by Skate Canada to take similar action, however we also understand that the situation and information surrounding Covid-19 is being updated at times on an hourly basis and that position may change.

As a result we will continue to closely monitor and follow any recommendations from the Federal and Provincial Health Authorities and provide updates as quickly as we are able. We also encourage Clubs and Skating Schools to contact their local municipality to find out what direction or actions they are taking or implementing at a Municipal level.
