Clubs are encouraged to review the Club Bylaws with the Board of Directors each season to ensure all Board Members (new and existing) are familiar with each Bylaw and the implications of each (i.e. notification period for Annual General Meeting).
Clubs are to use their discretion when determining when updates are required. Examples of required Bylaw changes could be:
- Errors identified in existing Bylaws
- Changes required by AGLC upon licensing request
- Incorporate changes recommended by Skate Canada and/or Skate AB|NT|NU
- Change of Association Mandate / Operations
Skate AB|NT|NU has created a Club Bylaw template that Clubs in the Section may choose to refer. If you would like a copy of the Bylaw template or have any questions regarding existing Bylaws or Bylaw amendments, please contact Jennifer Boone at memberservices@skateabnwtnun.ca
Clubs are to email their proposed Bylaw amendments to the Section Office for review and approval prior to having them approved by the Club Board of Directors and the Club Membership.
