Section CanSkate Award

The purpose of the Skate Canada Seciton CanSkate Athlete Award is to recognize skaters who have shown enthusiasm and dedication to the CanSkate program throughout the skating season.

Section STARSkate Athlete Award

The purpose of the Skate Canada Section STAR Athlete Award is to recognize skaters who have demonstrated determination and commitment to the STAR program. Recipients of this award have displayed passion for the sport and have achieved success throughout the season, not only within the STAR assessing/testing system but also with personal skill development and growth.

Section CompetitiveSkate Athlete Award

The purpose of the Skate Canada  Section CompetitiveSkate Athlete Award is to recognize competitive skaters who exhibit spirit, dedication, determination and have been a positive role model for other athletes

Section Program Assistant Award

The purpose of the Skate Canada Section Program Assistant Award is to recognize dedicated and passionate program assistants who continuously share Skate Canada’s vision with all participants of the program. This award is presented to individuals who are not only great assets to the coaching team on the ice, but also show their commitment off the ice by providing support and assistance to the club and its registrants.

2019-2020 Jump Scholarship Program for Competitive Categories

The Jump Scholarship Program is designed to reward skaters for successful jumping skills in competition that are verified by the Technical Panel.  The competitive categories included are:  Pre-Juvenile to Senior.

Section Athlete Awards

Winnie Silverthorne Award – $1000.00 total

Presented annually to the highest placing skater(s) at the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships.

Kurt Browning Award – $500.00

Presented annually to the highest placing Junior Women at the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships.

Brian Pockar Award – $500.00

Presented annually to the highest placing Juvenile Men (U12 or U14) at the Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championships.

Jesse Smith Memorial Award – $225.00

Presented annually to the highest placing Pre-Juvenile Men (U11 or U13) at the Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championships.

Shantell Hale Award – $250.00 each

Presented annually to the highest placing Juvenile U12 Women and Juvenile U14 Women at the Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championships.

Barbara Graham Award – $500.00 total

Presented annually to the highest placing Pre-Novice or Novice pair or dance team at Skate Canada Challenge or the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships.

Pat Fischer Award – $500.00

Presented annually to the highest placing Pre-Novice Men at Skate Canada Challenge.
