New Evaluator Training Seminar

Skate Alberta-NWT/NUN will be hosting an ONLINE Evaluator Training Seminar for new candidates. This seminar will feature an introduction to effective evaluating skills, training on feedback and communication (soft skills), discipline overviews and much more.

Online Novice Synchronized Skating Judge Training

The first session is an overview and introduction, to be held Tuesday, December 8 from 7:00-8:30 pm. There will be approximately 7 more sessions to follow from January through March, with dates and times to be finalized.

We welcome interested officials from other disciplines, as well as those from the skating community who have no previous officiating experience.

STAR 6-Gold Evaluator Training

 Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut is seeking interested individuals to be trained as STAR 6 – Gold Evaluators. Evaluators are officials responsible for assessing skaters within the STAR 6 – Gold.

We are reaching out to individuals currently involved or new to the officiating community. Interested individuals must meet the criteria outlined below to participate: 

  • 16 years of age
  • Skating Background:
    Any two of Junior Bronze/STAR 5 Free Skating, Skills, Dance; or
  • Any one Senior Bronze/STAR 6 Free Skating, Skills, Dance or a Juvenile Competitive test; or
  • Any one higher level test
