2017-2018 Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut Leading Edge Series


  • The Leading Edge Series for 2017-2018 has officially begun
  • The Leading Edge Series (Competitive Stream) began at the 2017 Calgary Winter Invitational and will conclude at the 2018 Sectional Championships.
  • The Leading Edge Series (STARSkate Stream) began at the 2017 Chinook Open and will conclude at the 2018 STARSkate Championships
  • NOTE: The Pre-Juvenile Women U13 category began at the 2017 Sunsational Competition and will conclude at the 2018 STARSkate Championships.
  • Score Tabulation:The athlete’s top three scores will be added for a total score. In order for a score to be counted from Pre-Novice through Senior categories, both a short program and a free program must be skated in a competition.

Eligible athletes are as follows:


STARSkate Freeskate athletes –  Pre-Juvenile Women U13 and STAR 6 to Gold

CompetitiveSkate Singles athletes – Pre-Juvenile U11 to Senior

NOTE: *Pre-Juvenile Men U11 and U13 will be considered ONE category for the series only. Juvenile Men U12 and U14 will also be considered as ONE category for the series only.

New 2017-2018 Information


Skaters who DO NOT achieve their technical score to qualify for Sectionals or do not skate at the Sectional Championships WILL now be allowed to enter the STARSkate Leading Edge Series Stream. NOTE only scores achieved in the STARSkate stream will apply

Scores achieved in the STAR 6 category will no longer apply to the Pre-Juvenile U13 category.  Only scores achieved in the Pre-Juvenile U13 category will apply.  Pre-Juvenile U13 events will be available at more competitions this season.
